Traditional media create imaginary spaces that challenge our understanding of what is real; now, digital media have enabled virtual simulations of unprecedented scale. Through a grounding in the history of virtuality, students will grapple with contemporary debates about virtual reality, 3D media, virtual worlds, and metaverse/augmented reality applications.
