This course traces developments in playwriting, acting, and playhouse design from the Restoration to the present day. This introductory course will explore the theatrical innovations and political interventions of the work of such dramatists as Aphra Behn, George Lillo, Henrik Ibsen, Bertolt Brecht, Harold Pinter, Caryl Churchill, and Sarah Kane.
At least 60% in 1.0 course of English 1000-1999 or permission of the Department.
