This course concludes with a 1-2 week overseas program in Belgium, France, and/or the Netherlands, exploring commemorative practices after the World Wars. Topics include the presentation of history through monumental architecture, the preservation of battlefields, and museums, and how these sites have informed identity and efforts to reconcile former enemies.
1.0 History or Human Rights Studies course at the 2200-level or above, and permission of the Department.
