This course introduces students to the concepts and debates surrounding the intersections of health and media/information. Topics may include the social determinants of health and the media; the interrelationship between pharmaceutical marketing and advertising; Indigenous health issues and media coverage; the medicalization of pregnancy and childbirth; and global pandemics.
